Why this site ?

Twenty years ago, when our oldest son was born, Julien, I looked up his ancestors at the fifth generation in order to create his birth announcement. I was passionate about what I discovered, and as a result, you will find here the 16 familles of the beginning of the 19th century from which our children descend. These families are originally from all provinces in Belgium, from France and the Netherlands. Their descendancy counts more than 10.000 people. How does it work ?

• You can navigate in descending genealogies, climb in trees and ahnentafels, discover photos , documents, notes and sources.

• This site also allows to visualise family ties between two persons on this site, or to visualise the life of one or more individuals on a timeline.

• A strong Search function allows you to search on nearly all elements of the database. A list will also show all place names .

How can you help with this site ?

• Please, send me all documents, informations, photos, that can be of any use for this site.

• You can also suggest a change in the last tag of any screen . Example

• If you have time and want to administer part of a family tree, let me know and I will grant you an access in order to administer part of the family tree through the site.

• Last but certainly not least, the forum allows to exchange ideas and data: you can upload images and files here, and you can communicate your ideas to improve the site.

Some other functions:

• The left part of the screen can be hidden by clicking the (-) sign above left. Idem for the different modules.

• Under the heading "Families" in the main menu, left, you will find full descendancy trees of the main families, written with KStableau. Under the heading "Web" you will find downloads and links that can be interesting. Do not hesitate to add you own links and downloads.

• If you register on this site, your settings will be saved and recognised at each visit. (langauage, opening screen etc.) .

• Finally take a look at the "What's new" page, and the "Statistics" page.

Privacy policy.

Data of living people are strictly limited to first name and name (in other words, bith date, occupation etc. will not appear).
The same way matrimonial status is not mentionned: a couple, married or divorced, will appear as father and mother of children,with no mention regarding the status of their union.
